Obituary for Edward Lopez

Edward Lopez gained his angel wings Sunday morning, January 30th, 2022 due to sudden and unexpected health complications. Edward was 39 years old. This loss was completely unexpected leaving family and friends shocked and deeply saddened. He will be truly missed in so many ways.

Edward was born and raised in Dallas, TX on August 22, 1982. He was a loving and dedicated father to his two beautiful children October (15) and Noah (9). They were the center beam of his life and he gave everything a father could give. Edward was a member of Jokerz Car Club, he loved spending time with his kids, he loved the Dallas Cowboys; he loved hanging out with friends and family. Anyone who knew Edward was touched by his kindness, humor, and wittiness. He loved fiercely and deeply and we take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in the presence of our loving God.

Edward’s life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by him understand that his existence and the imprint he left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time that he was with us.

Edward is survived by his two precious children October Silva Lopez and Noah Lopez; his loving parents Cruz Cerda de Lopez and Jose Luz Lopez; his uncle Fernando Cerda as well as his extended family and an abundance of friends. We will all miss him more than words can say.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Victoriano Cerda Dega and grandmother Maria Estefana Gonzalez de Cerda.

Pallbearers: Noah Lopez, Fernando Cerda, Manuel Castillo, Daniel Serrano, Jose Cerda, Jr., Hector Garcia, Fred Cerda

Love letter to our daddy…

“Daddy,

We love you more than words could ever tell. A piece of our hearts will forever be missing. Your love was unconditional and your hugs could cure all. There will not be a day that goes by that we will not miss you. We’re not sure how to go through this life without you, but you taught us to never give up, to keep fighting and that is exactly what we will do. We will love you daddy, always and forever!”
October and Noah.
