Obituary for Juana Mendoza (Garcia)
Juanita Mendoza, mother to Catalina and David, left us the afternoon of Wednesday, May 17, at Baylor Medical Center
following a recent unforeseen relapse in her valiant fight against cancer. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and close friends.
A selfmade businesswoman, she was a pillar of the Oak Cliff community and known for her generosity and exceptional work ethic. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her – clients and family members alike. Mrs. Mendoza’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing. Family was her life’s devotion and she loved being a mother and a grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Juan Carlos; daughter, Catalina; son, David, his wife Sandra, and their two children, Brenda and David, Jr.; and four sisters and three brothers. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Sotero and Antonia; sister, Leticia; and brother, Humberto.
A farewell ceremony and celebration of life will be held at Calvario Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 23 and the family will receive friends during the hours of 9:30am-12:30pm.
Juanita Mendoza, madre de Catalina y David, nos dejó la tarde del miércoles 17 de mayo en Baylor Medical Center luego de una reciente recaída imprevista en su valiente lucha contra cáncer. Ella falleció en paz, rodeada de familiares y amigos cercanos.
Una mujer de negocios hecha a sí misma, fue un pilar de la comunidad de Oak Cliff y conocida por su generosidad y ética de trabajo excepcional. Todos los que la conocieron la extrañarán mucho: clientes y familiares por igual. La familia de la señora Mendoza pide que se la recuerde porla alegría que trajo a otros en la vida, no la tristeza de su muerte. La familia era su vida, devoción y le encantaba ser madre y abuela.
Le sobrevive su esposo de 46 años, Juan Carlos; hija Catalina; hijo, David, su esposa Sandra, y sus dos hijos, Brenda y David, Jr.; y cuatro hermanas y tres hermanos. Ella fue precedida en muerte por sus amados padres Sotero y Antonia; hermana, Leticia; y hermano, Humberto.
Una ceremonia de despedida y celebración de vida se llevará a cabo en Calvario Funeral Home el martes 23 de mayo y la familia recibirá a los amigos en el horario de 9:30 a. m. a 12:30 p. m.
